Sundsvallers leaving their cars home

“To work without car” is a new campaign that will convince you to use public transportation instead of personal car. Back in November we reported on a survey done by the kommun that found that publc transportation is one of the most urgent problems for people in Sundsvall. Moreover, according to the kommun 40% of rides taken in Sundsvall are no longer than 5km.

To understand what exactly making people in Sundsvall to be so negative to wards public transportation the transportation department at Sundsvall kommun will use volunteering testers that will use the local publc transportation in the city and answer surveys. The choosen testers will get during March and April free tickets to work and back.

One of the answer that already known for sure is that what is making people use their cars is the high prices of short bus rides in the city. With a price of 25kr for inner city ride it can be cheaper to leave the bus at the bus station and use your own car.
